Nootka Rose Hips

Welcome to Ethical Gathering and Foraging Techniques with a special focus on Nootka Rose Hips.

In this class we will begin with the ethics around harvesting and gathering at home and in nature. This class will going over the do's and don'ts og harvesting. We will touch base on the simple economic, environmental, western and indigenous ethical practices. You will learn when to harvest different parts of plants and why that is so important. Through demonstration and hands-on experience we will go over what to gather in what season and the tools that are best used to gather roots, whole plants, hips, buds, bulbs, and aerial parts.

The Second half of this class will be hands-on processing fresh rose hips and learning how to preserve them in different ways. We will also use dried rose hips to make an infused oil to take home while discussing their special qualities,  super nutrients, medicinal properties and more. 

Each person will get to take home simple rose hip medicine making recipes, a mason jar of rose hip oil to finish off infusing and to share with loved ones, a certificate for Herbal Education and a detailed workshop class outline.
